Peter Rhymer says that the “Ugandan Girl” idea of the song came about when he was soul searching and getting more in touch with his Ugandan roots, and he says that it made him feel that the right woman to settle with would be a Ugandan, for the sheer fact of culture, and to really understand him as a human.
